About Me

My name is Matthew Horton, from Bath in England. Photography is one of my many interests and hobbies.

I would class myself as a nature photographer, as my main focus of my images are on Animals and Flowers. I also shoot Landscapes, scenery and anything of natural beauty.

I have a Canon 1000d and I use it with either a 18-55mm lens or a 70-300mm lens. I use Photoshop CS4 to edit my photos, but I only use it for basic and moderately basic editing. And of course I never use image manipulation.

In the Summer of 2011 I was fortunate enough to go on a trip of a lifetime of the Canadian Rockies. It was here where I fell in love with Photography. I found myself taking 4000 photographs in just the 3 weeks I was there. The main reason why I took so many was initially for my photography GCSE, as the topic I was studying was Nature Photography. However whilst I was there I just wanted to get as many good shots as I possibly could so I could build up a Portfolio.

I have just finished my photography GCSE and am currently waiting for my grade.

I found myself taking 4000 photographs in just the 3 weeks that I was there. Having studied Photography for a year I took all the skills I had learnt and used them to great affect by capturing all sorts of nature photography. It was this trip which formed me and I can boast some highly credible works.
